Root Beer

In some respects, Elias is an unusually picky eater, even for a kid. For example, he doesn't like macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, or pizza. Until recently, he also didn't care for soda - the carbonation was "too spicy" - but he's recently made an exception for root beer, which is the finest of sodas, so who can blame him?

Anyway, we were hanging out with a friend today and decided to go to La Bonita, and I had told Elias that he could have a root beer with his burrito. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that their root beer was caffeinated, and so I told Elias he could have an orange or lemon-lime soda instead. In the picture accompanying this post, you can see him sulking under the table. Later, he emerged just long enough to whisper in my ear: "If caffeine stops you from growing, I just wanna say that I don't wanna grow up."
